The Missouri Center for Education Safety is offering School Safety Workshops begining March 1st in Springfield, March 8th in Kansas City, March 9th in Columbia, and March 14th in Kirksville. You will get the latest informatio to assist you in keeping your schools safe. The one day training includes legal updates, discussion of safety issues like cyber security as well as the chance to meet and network with school safety coordinators in neighboring schools and districts.
The 2017 Combined Law Enforcement Conference has been set for June 26-June 29th 2017 at Tan Tar A resort. We are working on getting a registration link up soon so you can register as soon as possible. The Missouri School Resource Officers have set their tentative agenda and it is attached to view. This is tentative and is subject to change.

On Oct 21st the Autism Alliance of Northwest Missouri will provide training to Public Safety and Criminal Justice Professionals at the Fulkerson Center on the campus of Missouri Western State University. The training will be from 9am to 3pm and will cover pre-escalation techniques, broad-based development, communication and socialization skills, victimization and harassment, safety risks, autism recognition, response and first responder strategies. On June 30th , 2016, during the annual MSRO conference, Cpl Sarah Hardin was announced as the winner of this year's School Resource Officer of the Year Award. Cpl Hardin is a 14 year veteran of the Buchanan County Sheriff's Department. She has been working as a School Resource Officer for 8 years. Cpl Hardin was nominated for this award by her Principal David Rapp and the faculty and students she protects daily at Mid-Buchanan High School.
The MSRO will meet Sept 8th, 2016 at the Missouri Police Chief's building at 1001 East High Jefferson City MO. The conference committee will meet at 10 am followed by a business meeting.
